Affiliate of the Year: Why Showing Up Is Everything

There are awards you earn by being good at your job. And then there are awards you earn by showing up, over and over again, even when nobody's watching.
Being named the 2025 Affiliate of the Year by the Cherokee Association of Realtors is the second kind. And that makes it mean even more.

It's Not About the Business Card
Let me be clear about something: this award has nothing to do with how many loans I closed last year.
Affiliate of the Year is given to someone who shows up for the Realtor community. Not just professionally, but personally. It recognizes the people who are first in the door and last to leave. Who sponsor events not for the logo placement, but because they believe in what the association is building. Who sit on committees, do the unglamorous work, and invest their time in something bigger than their own pipeline.
That's the award I won. And I couldn't be prouder of that.
What "Showing Up" Actually Looks Like
For me, involvement in the Cherokee Association of Realtors has never been a marketing strategy. It started as genuine respect for the Realtor community and grew into something I truly love being part of.
I serve on two committees within the association. I attend events, not to network in the transactional sense, but because I actually want to be there. I sponsor because I believe in the mission. I stay late because the conversations at the end of the night are usually the best ones.
What I've gotten back is immeasurable. Relationships that go beyond business. A front-row seat to what Realtors actually need from their affiliate partners. A community I'm proud to be part of.
Why This Matters More Than Any Production Award
In this industry, it's easy to measure success in closed loans and dollar volume. And those things matter. But the Realtors I work alongside every day deserve partners who are invested in more than a transaction.
Being recognized by my peers in Cherokee County, people who see how I show up, not just what I produce, is the kind of validation that actually sticks.
This isn't a trophy I'll forget about in six months. It's a reminder of why I got deeply involved in the first place and a commitment to keep doing it.
Thank You, Cherokee Association of Realtors
To every committee member, board leader, event volunteer, and Realtor who has welcomed me into this community: thank you. You made me want to show up. And I plan to keep doing exactly that.
And to whoever submitted my name for this award- I don't know who you are, but I want you to know it meant everything. Genuinely. If I ever figure out who you are, consider yourself warned: you're getting the biggest hug I've got. You saw something worth recognizing and took the time to say so, and that kind of quiet support is exactly what makes this community so special.
